PREPARING FOR THE NEXT ULTRA MARATHON
I decided to take a longer than usual break after running the Hill Country Trivium. This race has a 31 mile course with many steep hills. I ran the Trivium only two weeks after completing the 31 mile division of the Marine Corps Marathon, so my body was already worn out before I took on this challenging race. This morning, however, I decided to start serious training again.
I ran a solid 6 miles this morning. I pushed myself to run faster than I usually do. Turns out that my legs had missed running, so they enjoyed being pushed to move fast over the sidewalk.I cannot wait to push them for 8 miles, perhaps at an even faster pace, tomorrow.
