There is only about one month until the Marine Corps Marathon, so i am making double sure that I have the endurance to finish this race. I would usually be tapering at this point before a marathon. I cannot start to reduce my weekly mileage yet because I am running the 30 mile version of this race. I am making sure my legs are used to running many miles at a time. I also need to train my legs to run at a slower pace. Can i hold a 8:42-8:50 minute per mile pace for a marathon? Yes. Can i do so for a 30 mile race? No.
So the miles were long and slow last week. The weather is still uncomfortable for running, so they were also quite uncomfortable. I cannot wait until the temperature cools down!
